Explorers, Parents and Carers
This weekend is Remembrance Sunday so we just wanted to let everyone know details and timings of where Barnsley Explorers will be meeting. Explorers can join in with any of the Units that they attend or can they choose to go to a parade closer to home if they prefer.
Explorers can also choose to attend with any of the Scout groups that they are connected to as a Young Leader. Any Explorers who are closer to Barnsley Town centre are welcome to join in with the small number of Explorers and Leaders that attend there too and who join the main Barnsley parade.
Explorers should attend in Uniform shirt and necker with smart trousers (No jeans please) and shoes. If Uniform shirt is too small (lots of our Explorers are 17 now and don’t quite fit into shirts they had as 14 yr olds) then please just wear something smart with a necker. No need to buy new shirts if you are leaving in the next year or so.
Any Explorers that need to buy uniform shirts can get them online, or at the Scout shop in Sheffield or Hesley wood activity centre (contact first).
Penistone – meeting at the garages behind Tesco at 10.15 am. Parade will finish by the Community Centre usually 11.30-12 noon
Hoyland – Meeting at Hoyland Cemetery at 10.30am and will finish at Hoyland library at approx 11.30 am
Royston – To be confirmed by Royston scout group. Please get in touch if you need more information.
Goldthorpe / Thurnscoe – Asda carpark and then onto Thurnscoe War memorial. Meeting 10.20 am and finish around 11.30 am
Barnsley town Centre – meet outside the Town hall at 10.05 am. Finish after the march past the memorial along with other uniformed groups , usually around 11.30- 11.45 am
